Lost Sonnet Wine. It’s not a secret that Trader Joe’s provides the opportunity for knockout wine values. Long associated with Charles Shaw and other discount brands, the store has made huge strides in providing upper-tier wines at discounted prices.

It does well in its niche of super affordable quaffable everyday bottles, but it’s been providing more choices for the consumer willing to spend a little more for that everyday bottle. Or someone looking to upgrade for a special occasion, but still looking for a great deal.

Their Lost Sonnet 2007 Meritage is one of it’s best current steals.

With juice purchased from the recently acquired Consentino Winery by Vintage Wine Estates, Trader Joe’s provides an immediate cash stimulus to the winery and a bargain wine deal to the consumer.

Composition: 58% Cab Sauv, 22% Merlot, and 20% Cab Franc. 14.5% ABV

Prevalent raspberry and dark chocolate, with hints of vanilla, coffee, and oak on the nose.

The flavors stay true to the aroma, revealing lots of layers to dig into and ponder. A gorgeous balance of fruit accentuated by chocolate, vanilla, spice, and espresso. Silky tannins provide just enough texture to buttress the flavors without overpowering them. Incredibly smooth, but deceivingly rich. Ridiculously delicious.

For $9.99, this is pretty freaking good.  Limited availability, so best get it while it’s to be got.
